WOLVES MATCHDAY PREVIEW

August 12, 2022 3:02 pm

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS V FULHAM | SATURDAY 13TH AUGUST | 3PM | MOLINEUX | #WOLFUL

The opposition

  • Wolves made the perfect start in their season opener at Leeds United last week when Daniel Podence put them in front early on, but they left Elland Road empty handed courtesy of Rodrigo Moreno’s equaliser and an own goal from Rayan Ait Nouri.
  • It’s been a fairly quiet summer on the transfer front at Molineux, though their two incomings are significant signings. Wolves parted with the better part of £50m to bring in centre-back Nathan Collins and winger Gonçalo Guedes from Burnley and Valencia, respectively.
  • Some Wolves stalwarts have departed this summer. Conor Coady, Romain Saiss and John Ruddy had almost 600 appearances between them in gold, but have all moved on to pastures new for the 2022/23 campaign.

Wolves team news

Raul Jimenez, Chiquinho and Adama Traore will all miss the weekend’s match, but Nelson Semedo could be back in contention having returned to training.

Fulham team news

Harry Wilson and Manor Solomon are sidelined, but Nathaniel Chalobah was back training with the boys this week.

Player insight

Neeskens Kebano knows Wolves will want to provide a response this weekend, but hopes Fulham can continue the same levels shown against Liverpool.

“They’ll try to come back and try to win the game for sure, because they didn’t start well [against Leeds]. So now they’ll be at home they’ll want to get the three points, I think.

“We all know that we came out with a good game last game, so we want to reproduce a good performance this weekend.”
