WILLIAN: HOME ADVANTAGE

November 10, 2022 1:11 pm

Willian wants to move on from the disappointment suffered at Manchester City when we take on their local rivals at the weekend.

A stoppage time penalty denied Fulham what would have been a hard earned point at the Etihad, and we’ll be looking to heal those wounds when we entertain Manchester United.

“This one was a tough one to take against City at the end of the game, but we have to move on,” Willian said. “Now we have another great game to play on Sunday against another big team in United.

“I think as a team we are in good shape, we are doing well, and we have to keep going in the same way. Keep trying to win games, and Sunday is another opportunity for us to go and try to win this game.”

Only Newcastle United have left Craven Cottage with maximum points this season, and Willian is hoping to put that home advantage to good use against the Red Devils.

Asked what it would mean to give the fans a win going into the World Cup, he replied: “I think it will be amazing for them, and also for us.

“We’re playing this game at home, we know United is a big team, it’s a team that has great players, and they’ll come here to try to win as well.

“But we’re playing at home and we have to show from the first minute that we want to win this game.

“Then we have a break, we can rest, but we have to win this game, no doubt.”
