FOREST MATCHDAY PREVIEW

February 11, 2023 2:44 pm

FULHAM V NOTTINGHAM FOREST | SATURDAY 11TH FEBRUARY 2023 | 3PM | CRAVEN COTTAGE | #FULNFO

The opposition

  • Forest have been the Premier League’s form team in 2023, winning three and drawing two of their five matches this year.
  • It’s a run which has given Steve Cooper’s side some breathing space in the relegation picture, moving them up to 13th, with six points now separating themselves from the bottom three.
  • January was a typically busy window for the Reds, who brought in five new faces. With summer signing Dean Henderson struggling with injury, Champions League winning goalkeeper Keylor Navas was brought in on loan from Paris-Saint Germain, impressing on his debut in their 1-0 win over Leeds United last week.

Fulham team news

Tom Cairney is out after picking up an ankle injury right at the end of Wednesday’s win in Sunderland, but Harrison Reed has recovered from a niggle suffered in the same match. Cédric Soares and Saša Lukić will both be in the matchday squad.

Forest team news

In addition to Henderson, Forest will also be without Ryan Yates, Moussa Niakhate, Taiwo Awoniyi, Giulian Biancone, Cheikhou Kouyate and Omar Richards. Deadline day arrival Jonjo Shelvey could make the squad after recovering from an injury sustained while with former club Newcastle United.

Player insight

Harry Wilson believes Neco Williams will receive a warm welcome on his return to Craven Cottage, but is hoping his friend has a quiet afternoon on the pitch.

“I speak to Necs quite a lot,” he told FFCtv. “In his short spell here he did really well so I’m sure he’ll get a good reception.

“I speak to him regularly, he’s enjoying it up there. I think he’s got back in the team for the last couple after missing a few.

“I’m sure whatever team they play will be difficult, and if Necs plays we’ll have to make sure we keep him quiet because we know he’s got quality to hurt us.”
