INTERNATIONALS: BOBBY’S DAZZLER

Bobby De Cordova-Reid bagged an unbelievable goal in Jamaica’s 2-2 draw with Mexico.

There were less than seven minutes played when a loose ball bounced his way 30 yards out, and without hesitation he spanked it full on the volley, hitting across the ball to send it over experienced goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and into the postage stamp.

In what was their final CONCACAF Nations League match, Jamaica needed to win to progress to the Finals, though they still impressed during their four fixtures, in which they remained undefeated.

In European Championship Qualifiers, João Palhinha registered a lovely assist as Portugal was 6-0 victors in Luxembourg.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and João Félix had their side in control before Palhinha’s brilliant ball over the top picked out the run of Bernardo Silva who nodded in.

Palhinha played 86 minutes of the contest before being replaced by Liverpool’s Diogo Jota, with further goals from Ronaldo, Otavio and Rafael Leao wrapping up a convincing win for Portugal.

Manor Solomon was also in a creative mood, setting up Israel’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw at home to Kosovo.

Having trailed to an own goal, Israel restored parity when Solomon won a tackle high up the pitch and fed Dor Peretz, who fired emphatically inside the far post.

Serbia made it a winning start to qualifying, with Aleksandar Mitrović and Saša Lukić both starting their 2-0 win over Lithuania in Belgrade.

Goals from Dusan Tadic and Dusan Vlahovic secured the points, with Mitro and Lukić getting 80 and 72 minutes of action, respectively.

Harry Wilson and Dan James both started for Wales, who claimed a valuable point away to World Cup Semi-Finalists Croatia.

After Wales had fallen behind to Andrej Kramaric’s toe poke from the edge of the box, Wilson went close with a free-kick that narrowly cleared the bar, before teeing up his Fulham teammate with a great clipped pass, but James volleyed wide.

The pair were then both withdrawn on 64 minutes, while Luke Harris was an unused substitute, and watched on as Nathan Broadhead stabbed in a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time on his international debut.
