MAN CITY MATCHDAY PREVIEW

April 29, 2023 12:00 pm

FULHAM V MANCHESTER CITY | SUNDAY 30TH APRIL 2023 | 2PM | CRAVEN COTTAGE | #FULMCI

The opposition

  • Manchester City are still on course for the treble, having taken the driving seat in the Premier League ahead of their Champions League Semi-Final showdown with Real Madrid, and the all Manchester FA Cup Final.
  • Since a 1-0 away defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of February, City have been relentless in the Premier League, taking 28 points from a possible 30. Their most important win may have come in midweek, when they blew away Arsenal to move to within two points of top spot, with two games in hand on the Gunners.
  • The form of Erling Haaland has been crucial to City’s superb season. His quality was never in doubt, but the manner in which he has hit the ground running has been remarkable. If he finds the back of the net at Craven Cottage, it would move him onto 50 Manchester City goals in his maiden season.
Erling Haaland scores his 49th goal of the season against Arsenal

Fulham team news

Harry Wilson should have recovered from his stomach problem, but Willian is more of a doubt as the Club continues to assess the hamstring strain he suffered during the warm-up at Villa Park. Aleksandar Mitrović is suspended.

Man City team news

Nathan Ake is City’s only absentee, as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

Player insight

Andreas Pereira wants Fulham to get some revenge for City’s last-gasp victory at the Etihad back in November.

“It was a very difficult one to take because we did very well there,” he said. “We did a great job there and were so unlucky to get the goal against us in the last minute when they scored the penalty.

“We still have a bad feeling about that, and we know it’s a very, very difficult game, but we want to take points at home.”

Coverage

The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, while FFCtv subscribers can listen to commentary from Gentleman Jim, Sean Davis and Jamie Reid.

Forever Fulham

John Dempsey will receive the Forever Fulham award at half-time.

Remembering Lisa

This week, the Fulham community lost a treasured memory of its family, with the sad passing of lifelong fan Lisa Hughes. Supporters are encouraged to celebrate Lisa’s life with a period of applause on the 46th minute.
