Bernd Leno has been nominated for the Castrol Save of the Month award for April.
Our German ‘keeper was named Man of the Match against Manchester City after making a string of top notch saves, and it was his agile stop to deny Erling Haaland at the start of the second half which has seen him make the shortlist.
Having found some space in the box, Haaland made a smart connection with Jack Grealish’s centre to steer a powerful low shot inside the near post, but Leno contorted his body impressively to get down and push it behind for a corner.
Leno’s competition for the award comes from Lukasz Fabianski, David De Gea, Daniel Iversen, Aaron Ramsdale, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
