Talk us through your first goal – was it a case of making sure it was a good delivery for players to attack, but one that could also confuse the goalkeeper?
It was the target to put it in front of the ‘keeper, to put him in doubt. Maybe someone could get in there to touch the ball, but nobody touched it. I think [Daniel Iversen] expected someone to touch the ball but nobody did, and it went in. It was a good goal, I think, a goal that gave us a little bit more confidence and a little bit more patience to play and to score more goals.
Your second was different to all your previous Fulham goals, but one we’ve seen you score many times in the Premier League over the years…
When I played for Chelsea, I always tried to do this kind of movement, to come inside and hit the target, and this one was a good one.
With three games to play, confidence must be high that we can reach our record points tally of 54?
Absolutely we can do that. The way we play, I think we can do that, for sure. But we need to be ready because it’s going to be a good challenge for us in Southampton. We want to reach our target, they want to win and try to stay in the Premier League next season, and it will be a good game to play.
They need to win to have any chance of staying up, so it’s going to be a big fight isn’t it?
Yeah, for sure. We have to expect a really hard game, we expect that when we have the ball they will come to press us everywhere, man to man. But it will be a good game.
3,200 Fulham fans will be there supporting you, so it should be a good atmosphere?
For sure it will be. It will be a good atmosphere for both teams. With the way we play, as I said, we can go there and we can do a great job and take the three points.
How much of a boost is it to have Aleksandar Mitrović available again?
A good player, an important player for us. He will be back on Saturday, and it will be a great opportunity for us, with him, to try to play well and to try to win this game there.
Carlos Vinicius has impressed recently – how happy were you for him?
I’m really, really happy for him. In the last matches he’s scored goals, played well. Now it will be two players that can help us in many situations. I don’t know if Mitro or Vini is going to start, but both players are fit and can help us.
