Kompany’s Clarets take on La Liga side Real Betis
Burnley Football Club can confirm that the Clarets will play La Liga side Real Betis in a pre-season game on Friday 28th July at 7:30pm local time.
The friendly fixture will take place in the Spanish city of Huelva at the Estadio Nuevo Colombino.
As announced recently, Vincent Kompany’s side will first face Belgian side Genk in a friendly at the Cegeka Arena on Saturday 22nd July before heading to a week-long training camp in Lisbon and then on to Spain to face Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Ahead of coming up against his former manager, Clarets boss Vincent Kompany said: “We won trophies together so that always creates a bond as you’ve done something special together.
“He had me as a player and now I’m aging a bit now so I’ll be on the touchline and it will be nice to see him and share some special memories.
“His team have done really well in La Liga and it will be good to see where we are at against a top European side.”
