Defender on working hard to improve every day

The Clarets may have suffered defeats in their opening Premier League fixtures but centre-back Ameen Al-Dakhil is confident league wins will come.

Having learnt lessons from last weekend’s Aston Villa fixture, Al-Dakhil believes the team will continue to improve by working hard everyday, and in time the points will come.

“I think we are getting better,” said Ameen, who has been an ever-present so far this season.

“We are working hard every day, to keep going. Aston Villa scored from two counter attacks; it was a harsh lesson for us.

“It’s true in the Championship maybe you can get away with it but in the Premier League, you won’t. As a team, we will have to keep that in mind and not make these mistakes again.”

Tottenham head to Turf Moor in excellent form, with two wins and a draw from their opening three games. However, Ameen is confident that the Clarets can turn things around and get off the mark at the Turf in front of their own fans.

“I think everyone is ready for it,” he said. “We have to, it’s still early on but it will be good to get the points. We have to keep going. We are just two league games in, but we have to keep going. Tottenham are another big club, but we have the right players to do it and to win. We are looking forward to it.”
