New midfield recruit reflects on Burnley move

The Clarets’ newest signing Han-Noah Massengo admits it’s a dream come true to join Burnley in the Premier League following his departure from Bristol City.

Born in Villepinte, Massengo discussed how he grew up watching the Premier League in France and is thrilled to now be a part of it with the Clarets.

Speaking to Clarets+ upon signing at Turf Moor, Massengo said: “The Premier League is so big! When I was a kid, I used to watch it grow up watching it and I know it sounds cliché but it really is a dream come true for me and my family.

“The interest was there early and during the summer I just wanted to be here, I could see the manager and Club wanted me and I wanted to be a part of it. It meant a lot to me.

“I’m feeling really good. I’ve had talks with the manager and I just wanted to come here straight away. I’m more than ready! I can’t wait, I just want to get on the pitch.

“I’ve been training every day and keeping fit and be ready for when the occasion came around. I’m ready I just want to get out there now.”

The 22-year-old spent time at Monaco between 2016 and 2019 where he played with Lyle Foster before joining Bristol City and linking up with then Robins captain Josh Brownhill.

Massengo is hoping he can follow in a similar pathway to Brownhill and is looking forward to reuniting with the midfielder.

The France U21 international said: “I spoke to Browny before I came and he was really good with me and said anything I needed to just let him know.

“It’s been really good to see how he has turned out and where he has come and I’d like to follow that pathway

“Hopefully I can turn out like Browny! He’s an example of where I would like to be.”

Massengo added: “I used to play with Lyle at Monaco, so I know him and have spoken to him. I was also with Browny at Bristol City and he was my captain there.”
