CLARETS AMONG FINALISTS AT NORTHWEST FOOTBALL AWARDS

Four Clarets up for awards and voting is now open

Clarets Josh Cullen, Jordan Beyer, Leah Embley and Millie Ravening have been nominated for awards at the Northwest Football Awards 2023.

Midfielder Josh Cullen is up for Championship Player of the Season at the awards ceremony, which is due to take place on Monday 6th November at Emirates Old Trafford.

Voted Burnley FC’s 2022/23 Players’ Player of the Season and Vertu Motors Player of the Season as voted for by the fans, Cullen was a lynchpin in the Clarets midfield last season, featuring 43 times, scoring once, registering four assists and missing just three fixtures through injury.

Teammate Jordan Beyer is also recognised in The Athletic Rising Star category. The 23-year-old made a flying start to life as a Claret having signed in summer 2022.

The German international made 30 appearances during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring one goal and registering three assists.

Hometown girl Leah Embley enjoyed a successful 2022/23 campaign with Burnley FC Women and is recognised in the Women’s Player category.

The winger made 25 appearances and scored eight goals last season, helping the women secure a third place finish in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women’s National League.

Also representing the women’s team, Millie Ravening makes up the Clarets nominations, with the midfielder shortlisted in The Athletic Women’s Rising Star category.

Voted opposition Player of the Match on nine occasions during the 2022/23 campaign, Ravening enjoyed a fantastic season, scoring 21 goals in 25 appearances.

Voting for the Northwest Football Awards is now open and will close on Friday 29th September at 5pm.
