Clarets set to host Rangers at Turf Moor this Friday
Burnley’s U21 side are back in Professional Development League action on Friday afternoon (12:00pm KO) as the Clarets host Queens Park Rangers at Turf Moor.
The Clarets won their first league fixture of the campaign last week with a 4-1 victory over Colchester United at the JobServe Community Stadium.
A brace from Joe Westley and goals from Lewis Richardson & Lucas Wane sealed all three points and a first win of the 2023/24 campaign after a 2-2 draw in the previous match against Millwall.
Burnley currently sit 6th in the ‘North’ Professional Development League table after a defeat, draw and win in the opening three fixtures.
Friday’s opponents QPR have enjoyed a flying start to life in the new season after winning all four of their first four fixtures.
Managed by former R’s, West Ham United and Leicester City winger Andy Impey, the London side have scored 14 goals already this season and conceded just five.
Rangers head into this weekend’s clash after seeing off Fleetwood Town at home in a 2-0 victory last week, after defeating Peterborough 7-1 in the previous game.
The last time the two sides faced each other was in August last year when QPR ran out 3-0 winners at the County Ground in Leyland.
If you are able to make it down to Turf Moor on Friday, tickets are available to purchase online and at the ticket office up until kick off.
