Two wins for Turner is this week’s loan watch

Part One of this week’s ‘Loan Watch’

13 players are currently on loan deals away from the Club, across various leagues and countries, including the Danish Superliga, Scottish Premiership, German Bundesliga and Turkish Süper Lig.

This tally includes players from both the first team, and U21s and below is a round up of how the first seven players, in alphabetical order, fared in this week’s fixtures.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell (AGF Aarhus)

Peacock-Farrell did not feature this week for Danish Superliga side Aarhus, as he is currently suspended following a red card in their 3-0 loss to Brøndby IF.

This week, AGF played out a 1-1 draw with Randers, with Patrick Mortensen’s 89th minute penalty securing a point for Peacock-Farrell’s loan side.

Uwe Rösler’s side are currently 6th in the league, and next up face Nykøbing in the Third Round of the DBU Pokalen at Lollands Bank Park.

This week’s game(s): THU – Nykøbing (A), SUN – Viborg (A)

Benn Ward (Swindon Town)

Ward was not involved in his side’s fixture with Morecambe this weekend, with the Robins drawing 2-2 against the Shrimps.

That result leaves Swindon sat 5th in the table, and they are currently unbeaten in Sky Bet League Two, with four wins and four draws in their opening eight matches.

Michael Flynn’s side host 17th placed Grimsby Town, next up in the league, on Saturday before a trip to high-flying Notts County on the following Tuesday.

This week’s game(s): SAT – Grimsby Town (H), TUE – Notts County (A)

Dara Costelloe (St Johnstone)

Costelloe was an unused substitute in the Saints 2-0 loss to Hibernian, with goals from Lewis Miller and Dylan Vente condemning his side to defeat.

Steven MacLean’s team are still winless in the Scottish Premiership this season, picking up 2 points in six matches as they sit bottom of the table.

Next up for St Johnstone is 10th placed Livingston at McDiarmid Park, as Costelloe’s loan side continue to search for that first win.

This week’s game(s): SAT – Livingston (H)

Harry Moss (Padiham)

Moss was also uninvolved, as Padiham fell to a 5-2 FA Vase defeat to Redcar Athletic, with Joel Brownhill’s brace not enough to help the Storks to avoid defeat.

Away from the cup, Michael Morrison’s side sit 21st in the North West Counties Premier Division, with 11 points picked up in their first 13 games.

The Storks are back in league action on Saturday, as they welcome Irlam to the Ruby Civil Arena before a trip to face Squires Gate on Tuesday.

This week’s game(s): SAT – Irlam (H), TUE – Squires Gate (A)

Jack Turner (Hyde United)

In the first of two games this week, Antoine Makoli netted in the 11th minute of stoppage time to ensure Hyde picked up a 1-0 victory against Basford United, in a match in which Turner was an unused substitute.

Turner then featured as a last-minute substitution in Tuesday’s game away at Stafford Rangers, as the Tigers battled to a 2-1 victory, and in turn, moved up to 13th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

Next up for Turner and Hyde is an Emirates FA Cup tie against Marine on Saturday, with a league trip to Atherton Collieries to follow next Tuesday.

This week’s game(s): SAT – Marine (H), TUE – Atherton Collieries (A)

Luke McNally (Stoke City)

McNally played the full 90 minutes as Stoke fell to a 3-1 defeat against fellow Clarets loanee, Scott Twine’s Hull City.

That result leaves the Potters sat 20th in the Sky Bet Championship table, with seven points in their first eight games.

A tricky cup tie follows against AFC Bournemouth on Wednesday night, before a trip to Bristol City as they return to league action on Saturday.

This week’s game(s): WED – AFC Bournemouth (A), SAT – Bristol City (A)

Marcel Lewis (Dundee)

Lewis was an unused substitute in Dundee’s 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock – who have accrued the same amount of points as the Dee so far this season – as a last-minute leveller from Zak Andrew meant the game ended all square.

The on-loan winger is yet to make his debut for Tony Docherty’s side, who sit 9th in the Scottish Premiership standings.
