U18s defender signs first professional deal
Defender Jack McEvilly has signed his first professional contract with the Club after penning a three-year deal.
McEvilly has been with the Club since the U12 age group, and has progressed through the ranks, signing a two-year scholarship ahead of the 2023/24 season, which has now turned into an extended professional deal.
The 17-year-old was a regular within Tony Philliskirk’s U18s set up last season, and also made his debut for the U21s back in February of this year, coming on as a 67th minute substitute for Jack Turner.
Despite struggling with injury in the past few months, the defender is now working his way back into the U18s fold following his recovery.
Upon signing his deal McEvilly said: “I’m proud to have signed my first professional contract with Burnley Football Club.
“I’m happy to be working my way back into the side following my injury, and I’m also happy that I can continue to develop here at this Club.”
