WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK: A GUIDE TO THE WEEK AHEAD

All the dates, times, kick offs, venues and streaming information you need for the week ahead

MONDAY

Ukraine U21s vs England U21s | U21 Euro Qualifier | 5:30pm

Gibraltar vs Republic of Ireland | Euro 2024 Qualifier | 7:45pm

Goalkeeper James Trafford and midfielder Aaron Ramsey will both have the chance to feature for England’s U21s side when they travel to face Ukraine in a U21 Euro qualifying game.

Both sides have won their respective two games in Group F so far, with the Three Lions coming into the game off the back of a 9-1 victory against Serbia.

Following that game, Dara O’Shea and Josh Cullen’s Republic of Ireland are in action as they face Gibraltar away from home in a Euro 2024 Qualifier.

Ireland sit second bottom of their group, with their hopes of qualification through the qualifiers over, with Gibraltar sat one place below, and yet to taste victory.

TUESDAY

South Africa vs Ivory Coast | Friendly | 11am

Peterborough United vs Burnley | U21 Professional Development League | 1pm

France U21s vs Cyprus U21s | U21 Euro Qualifier | 5:30pm

San Marino vs Denmark | Euro 2024 Qualifier | 7:45pm

Lyle Foster’s South Africa are in action on Tuesday morning, as they host Ivory Coast in an international friendly, following their 0-0 draw with Eswatini at home last Friday.

The U21s are also in action on Tuesday, as they travel to idVerde Training Ground to take on Peterborough United in the Professional Development League.

Coming into this game on the back of a 3-3 draw against Brentford in the Premier League Cup on Saturday 7th October, the Clarets return to league action against 11th placed Posh, who are yet to pick up a point this season.

Wilson Odobert’s France U21s also feature, with a home game against Cyprus kicking off an evening of international fixtures, with Jacob Bruun Larsen also having the potential to feature in Denmark’s away game against San Marino.

SATURDAY 

Crewe Alexandra vs Burnley | U18 PDL Cup | 11am 

Brentford vs Burnley | Premier League | 3pm 

It’s a double header on Saturday as both the first team and U18s are in action, with Tony Philliskirk’s side kicking us off with their 11am kick off against Crewe Alexandra away from home in the PDL Cup. 

The U18s lost out in their previous fixture against Birmingham City, so will look to bounce back here with the trip to the Railwaymen, with full coverage of this fixture available on X @ClaretsAcademy and a match report will follow the fixture on burnleyfc.com

The first team then return to action following the international break, as they face Brentford in the Premier League at the Gtech Community Stadium. 

The Bees are sat 15th in the table, three places above the Clarets, who will look to mark their first game back with a win.

SUNDAY 

Stoke City Women vs Burnley Women | FA Women’s National League North | 2pm 

The Claret Women round off the week with their trip to the Emerys Stadium to take on Stoke City in the FA Women’s National League North. 

Rebecca Sawiuk’s side are still unbeaten in the league, following their 0-0 draw with fellow unbeaten side Newcastle United last Sunday, and top the table.
