AFC Bournemouth
The Cherries returned to the top-flight in 2022, following two seasons away from the Premier League after relegation in 2020.
Bournemouth sealed a 15th place finish in their first season back and after Gary O’Neil’s departure was confirmed in June, spaniard Andoni Iraola was confirmed as Bournemouth boss shortly after joining from Rayo Vallecano.
Iraola added nine new players to his squad ahead of the 2023/23 campaign, as the Cherries looked to secure a second consecutive season in the top-flight.
USA midfielder Tyler Adams arrived from Leeds United, Alex Scott signed from Bristol City, Hamed Traore joined from Sassuolo and Milos Kerkez signed from AZ Alkmaar.
Wideman Romain Faivre departed Ligue 1 & Lyon for Bournemouth, whilst Max Aarons and Justin Kluivert joined Iraola’s side from Norwich City and AS Roma respectively.
The Cherries also completed the signings of Luis Sinisterra from Leeds United and goalkeeper Ionut Radu from Inter Milan.
Form Guide
Burnley come into the clash against 19th placed Bournemouth off the back of two consecutive defeats against Chelsea and Brentford.
Prior to them two fixtures and the international break, the Clarets got their first three points of the season at Luton Town with a 2-1 win.
The Cherries head into the weekend after suffering four straight Premier League defeats, most recently last weekend falling to a 2-1 loss at home to Wolves in the closing stages.
Bournemouth’s three points this season have come from home draws with West Ham & Chelsea and a 2-2 draw at Brentford last month.
What Vincent Kompany said
“The biggest thing for me is belief and to always have it. It’s important for me and no matter what happens, the main thing is that the team believes and then from a bad game like Brentford it’s to see what the response can be.
“It’s about how you react after this. Look at the Sheff United game last year and the response we got. Yes, I know it’s a different league and some different players but it’s what I want to see now from this group.
“It’s a mindset thing and I’ve always been that way. It was tough last weekend and no one has shied away from it, but it’s about what you do after.”
