Everton
Former Clarets boss Dyche took charge of the Toffees in January this year and guided the club to Premier League survival on the final day of the 2022/23 campaign.
Ahead of his first full season as manager at Goodison Park, Dyche added the experience of former Aston Villa and Manchester United full-back Ashley Young to his squad alongside the attacking duo of Neto from Udinese and Chermiti from Sporting CP.
Winger Jack Harrison arrived on loan from Leeds United and Arnaut Danjuma signed on a season loan from Villareal.
Dyche isn’t the only familiar face on Merseyside with former assistant’s Steve Stone and Ian Woan also on the touchline, Everton also have three former Clarets in Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil.
Form Guide
The Clarets come into the cup tie off the back of a 2-1 defeat at AFC Bournemouth on the weekend.
Kompany’s side will be looking to continue their success in the competition after beating Nottingham Forest and Salford City on route to round four.
Everton picked up their third Premier League win of the season on Sunday with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s strike sealing a 1-0 victory at West Ham United.
The Toffees beat Doncaster Rovers with a last minute Danjuma and Aston Villa away on their path to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
What Vincent Kompany said
“I can only imagine how special it will be on the day for him (Dyche) they’re always special moments and you can’t take those away from the game.
“I think for us it’s one where we feel we should be looking forward to getting back on the pitch as soon as we can and battling at the level we need to be at.”
