Vinny’s notes ahead of this afternoon’s game
Hello again!
Your support means everything to us all at this football club and, as always, we’ll be giving everything for you today.
You came in great numbers to Brentford, Bournemouth and Everton.
Just as you were in the Championship winning season you are aways there for us and we forever appreciate that.
At the training ground, we’re always working hard and share the same pride in wearing the Burnley shirt as you do supporting us.
We want to reward you and together I know we will continue to move forward.
Today, we welcome Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace to Turf Moor.
It’s fantastic to see Roy’s love and passion for football still shining after sixty years in the game.
His journey from a youth player at Palace to managing them in the Premier League today and all points between is incredible and a fine example to us all.
As this is our nearest match at Turf Moor to Remembrance Day, we will all observe a minute’s silence before kick-off.
I grew up in Brussels and I was brought up aware, with a strong understanding, of what happened in World War One on the battlefields in Belgium.
Today, we will pay our respects and remember those who lost their lives to defend our freedoms and protect our way of life.
It is a part of our history that we should never forget.
Vinny
